Hi Ryan, so nice reading from you. It is. It's a great conversion rate. At the same time it shows Ossiana could have much more paid subs if her list would be bigger.

Another useful read. Interesting to read other people's thoughts and experiences with both Medium and Substack.

Think so too. We'll soon hear Ayo and Walter Rhein. If you's like to see someone on my "show" on YouTube, let me know :D I'd love to have Eve Arnold but she's not interested in promotions I think

I enjoy reading these stories to orient myself in the world of Substack. To be honest, all the buttons and landing page options make my head spin. It's fascinating to look at these great accounts and see how the writers have optimized them. Writers need a steady income, so the balance between something like Medium and Substack is both obvious and necessary. Ossiana's advice about collaboration is also on point! Great stuff!

Hey Walter, thanks fo leaving a comment. Happy Valentine's Day! Saw youe post :) Hopefully, I'll also get some flowers.

I think it's smart to combine both worlds and linking back from one platform to the other. Especially for you this shouls be "easy" because you get boosted and are someone Medium likes and trusts. Convert your followers into subscribers. I'm looking forward to seeing how you're doing it.

In case you want to join a community of lit builders my Substack School might be the right place for you. There are multiple Medium writers. It's included in my paid subscription.

Would love to have you and learn and grow together.

I also think that a steady and recurring income is crucial.

Walter, quick question. My newsletter was "Kristina's Newsletter". I was thinking about rebranding it and now try different things.

What do you think about "Online Writing Club" or "Online Writing made simple" (as my publication Medium). Is this something you thinks fits to me and my writing?

It's also a lot about marketing but primarily for writers... so I need a broader name, I think.

Would love to hear from you.

Talk soon,

Kristina

I think I will join your Substack School. Lately, I'm getting a better sense as to what I might be able to do on this platform.

The topic of the name is really interesting. I originally started with "Walter's Newsletter" before I went to the more generic and wider reaching "make money writing" (I might change it again). I'm not sure the extent to which the name of the newsletter actually draws in readers, but it can't hurt. These days, I look at article titles as more like a programming code than a vehicle of creative expression (though they have to work as both). Even "Kristina God's Newsletter" would be better because that would provide you with name recognition. Words like "hacks" "tips" and "tricks" seem to help... though I don't think they're a good fit for you. Here are some ideas: "Online writing strategies," "Maximize your online writing" "Online Marketing for Writers" "The Writer's Ultimate Guide to Online Marketing" "The Ultimate Online Marketing Guide," The ultimate online writing guide"? Hope that helps :)

Many thanks ❤️ will think about it and put those ideas on my list.

Just saw you joined! Yeah!

You're #60. That's a special number. Thanks for your trust, Walter. It's really an honor to have you onboard.

I'll send you an invite when my toddler is asleep.
