So if I understood this right Medium are once again looking for personal stories or to be boosted as a true crime writer I need to have committed the crime so I have the right level of expertise.

Haha.. oh no.. that's a really good question, Sam. I'll ask Ariel about this topic. All I know is that true crime writers earn good money because people really spend time reading their stories. TC is one of the hidden champions on Medium. Would you agree?

I don't think you have to commit the crime to get Boosted. I remember several stories that got distributed by Medium's editors in the last years. So why shouldn't one of your stories get picked? If you add your own opinion/ flavour to it. Hope this helps. Will come back to you once I got feedback from Medium. Have a lovely weekend

Hi Jan, super awesome. Thank you one more time for sharing your story and screenshots. I'm virtually high giving you for your next Boosted story. You're on a roll, aren't you? I'll promote the guide, video and your story within the upcoming days on Medium. Talk to you soon, Kristina ❤️

As always, a highly informative post, Kristina! Questions:

Does a writer have to be in the MPP to get boosted?

Does an editor need to be in the MPP to be chosen as a boost curator?

Thanks again for restacking two of my stories! Super helpful!

Great question. As far as I know, the Boost isn't exclusive for MPP members.

You're from India, you can't earn any money via Stripe at the moment but via tips/coffees. So when Medium Boosts one of your stories you could at least get rewarded financially via tips.

As an editor for The Shortform you're also eligible to become an official Boost Curator. You simply need to apply. Do you know how?

Ariel shared in the comments on YouTube that she now has 50+ folks in the program, which is really cool.

If you watch the video, you'll find out that Medium is looking for Curators in almost all topic areas.

In an upcoming video, I'll share an interview with an official Boost Curator. I guess this give more insights.

Let me know if you have more questions, Vidya.

I will also collect all questions and answer them in an FAQ on Medium.

Thank you Kristina. Yes I know how to apply and did. Did not get selected. :-)

As for the tips/coffees feature, I can only hope! 💜

Hi Vidya, so you applied and got rejected? I'm sorry to hear that. Did Ariel/Medium tell you why?

I didnt get a response. I am assuming that lots of people must have applied and some got picked. :-)

Maybe you will get a response soon. I will ask Ariel about the process. Fingers crossed you get picked too. I remember vividly how many authors thought they wouldn't get a verified author badge...then after a months... They received an email and got it! Hope this helps. ❤️

Thank you Kristina! I got my verified author's badge too!

Thanks for sharing this information. I’m among the writers who think we’re doing all of these things but still haven’t been boosted. Hopefully that will change soon!

Hi Wendi, have you downloaded the guide yet? There you can find 5 publications that can nominate your stories for the Boost. My tip: start writing for one of them! Next week, I'll share an interview with an official Community Curator. He, for instance, offers to give feedback. Hope this helps! Fingers crossed. I'm sure you'll soon get Boosted.
