When I read your story it resonated with me. I'm from Frankfurt, West Germany 🇩🇪 that is one reason and the other is, I always called my dad on a Sunday but when I did call on a Sunday in 2007, my father was just discovered deceased 5 minutes before I called.
When I called my
Step-Mother simple stated that he can't talk and hung up on me. I said to myself WTG**** and called back.
I told her sternly "I WANT MY FATHER ON THE PHONE NOW!!!"😡🤬 I'd gathered that she didn't know how to tell me that my father just passed away.
He took a walk came home and took a nap that he never woke up from.
Glad to hear your story and knowing you are back. I have an 84 year old mother who keeps surprising me with her vigor but the days you describe will come for me at some point. One thing I love about Substack is that it si a true community and nobody will be mad when you take time to take care of the family.
Thank you for sharing such personal and emotional experiences. We have all gone through and will go through difficult situations that test us. It's part of life. We can only try to do our best and trust.
I believe the good Lord whispered in your ear. It was no coincidence that you called your father's wife. You are an amazing woman, Kristina. I'm glad you are listening to your inner voice and living where God wants you to be. I'll pray for your inner peace as you labor through these trying times. God bless you, sweet Kristina. ❤️
Sending hugs and prayers to you, dear Kristina. Got teary-eyed reading this. Do not ever felt so guilty. We are all humans and each of us has "life getting in the way" everyday of our lives. Thanks so much for just being simply you.

Hey Kristina, this is Jameson Steward from the days of Medium. I started another Substack profile to focus on posting about writing online.
I’m so sorry you and your family are having to go through all this!
Life can feel overwhelming sometimes, and all we can do is take it a day at a time - sometimes it’s just an hour at a time.
I appreciate how positive you are and how you’re always lifting other people up and helping them do things they never thought they could do.
Take care!
Love and prayers for you and your family as always 🤗💕🙏
Glad to hear you are on the mend. Go slowly as you return to work

So traumatic Kristina. So much happened in such a short time. Sometimes life happens and keeps on happening.
Our resilience muscle gets so stretched that it feels like it’s going to just snap!
Make time for you. Self care is so important. We give and give until our ‘cup’ is empty and then we can’t help anyone.
Be well my friend 🌸
Biggest hugs Kristina ❤️
So glad you are back and on the mend. May your recovery continue to go smoothly and your parents stabilize.
Life happens when we least expect it. One day things are ticking along and the next life turns you upside down.
Glad you were able to be with your family they are so precious. Blessings my friend 🌸🤗💕
You’ve been through so much Kristina! Glad you’re back now. Take good care of yourself - wishing your parents good health too. 🙏
So glad to see you are back in your seat . . .and hopefully feeling healthy again!
Taking care of yourself and your family is always the best decision. ✨️✨️✨️
