I am trying to eat up anything I can about how to use Substack notes. One thing that really confuses me is that I do not know where my notes go after I post them. I mean, I can find them on my page, but I don’t know how, the algorithms are categorizing them.

Love the title of your stack and also your notes. Give yourself some time.

There's no right way to do it.

You'll figure it out, connect with others and find your tribe.

Make sure to take action meaning not only waiting for others to come to you. Also follow/connect with others when you find something valuable, something resonates. See you on Wednesday or on another live session! Let me know when you're free for the 1on1. Maybe end of month? I'm planning this month with my hubby already as we both have a lot planned for our part time business and for our date nights ❤️

I've yet to turn on paid subscriptions, but am saving all this valuable info you're doling out Kristina. When I do go for it, at least I'll (kind of) know what I'm doing. Thanks so much for sharing this.

Hi Karen, take your time. I started in October 2022 and now 2 years later (!) I'm a bestseller and dared to go paid in January 2024

I’m working on my plan to get posting on Substack. How often should I post a Note each week?

Hi Michele, I would at least post 1-3 x per day on Notes. But it can also only be 1x per day. Mini memoirs, anecdotes, thoughts, Michele-style, Michele ^00%, things you would only tell your BBF or yourself work best

So glad you got to spend time with your dad Kristina ❤️

It's been an exciting week!! I went over 600 subscribers 🎶🎊🎉 Largely because of Notes.

Now I need to get some offers in my place so I can convert more to paid and give more value. Super excited to hear Tom this week 🙌🌷

He is!!

Vast majority the last few months. After consistently writing and engaging.

Notes then turbocharged things. Currently getting about 100 per month.

Yes!! 3000 🔥🔥

That's where my focus is now value ++ = $

You need to just rest and recharge. It's hard when you are a super energetic person, but if you don't it will catch up w you later.

Yes, 2pm EST in Wednesday is good. Thanks :-) Biggest hugs ❤️

Hi Janet, me too! Tom is a wonderful human being and I wish him ALL the best. Can't wait to hear more about his vplan to go back to the US.

600 is AWESOME! You gained ALL of them this year, am I right?

Next year 3,000 then :)

Offer, offer, offer, remember the session with Ayo? That's so important. Tell people what they get and what you have in store for them.

Super happy that I could visit my dad but my energy level is super low this week... was emotionally draining to get him out of the house, persuade him while also keeping the kids happy etc. See you on Wednesday!

I was thinking about doing it at 2pm EST. Would this be fine for you too?

Even with a decent 5-digit network on another social media channel means we need to start from scratch here on Notes. I get lots of engagement on LinkedIn while others don‘t. Same on Notes - therefore it is so crucial to learn from you and those who share their Notes success, Kristina!

I’m the same @Gunnar Habitz. I get tons of engagement on LinkedIn, so it’s hard to post on Notes and only get a few likes.

But LinkedIn too time to grow, so I imagine Notes will too. 👌🏼

Happy to share some insights, altough, as you know I'm not a Notes God and I don't check my metrics etc. often as I don't have the time ^^ but for my Bootcamps and coures and videos I'm happy to share time insights from me and our community

I meant on Notes I'm starting from scratch not gaining the engagement as I get on LinkedIn. We all start from zero.

We do! If I publish more here and on YouTube I barely find time to write on Medium, which annoys me.

But energy flows where the focus is. So I think its fine for now. Two years ago I started this journey and I'm super happy to be connected with you now.

Did you hear that Wes and I planning to do a LinkedIn/Substack Bootcamp together. Would love to have you onboard too. Wes is a member of our school

I do write notes. Almost daily. And get almost no engagement. I can only assume that they are not what people want to read? I write comments on other peoples notes too. In my notes I write about farming and sustainable living - and human stuff sometimes - my newsletters are well read but not my notes. I am flummoxed.

Thank you for a great article - I am always happy to learn more about this.

Thank you Kristina! I guess I have been engaging in notes for about 6 months. On Substack over a year.

And why? Huh. A HUGE question. Why indeed. Mostly to have conversations about stuff I guess. With people who are interested. Sometimes (like a few minutes ago) I write a note to simply get something SAID. Sometimes ideas gather in a persons brain like roadblocks snd demand to be said. And won’t let anything else past. Sometimes they are off brand. But it feels safe here. I am so used to not getting any feedback from my notes that I get quite - um - honest!

I share others work almost daily - there is just so much wonderful work here. And I publish my own newsletter at noon every Sunday.

My goal is a note each day and newsletter once a week. Paid subscribers get two farm videos a week. On a good week.

I have another publication on Wordpress that is daily so I am careful not to over commit. I am a farmer with a business after all.

Oh my! This is too long! I look forward to hearing from you again. Thank you so much for taking the time!

2x videos per week for piad? Wow! Most important thing is to offer value. Value, value . value. You can also poll your audience to find out more or ask them what they want more about. You could also start a paid chat and chat with them about a specific topic you cover in the videos. Just some thoughts. Hugs!

Hello Cecilia, just checked your notes.

You know. talking into the void is what we all feel. It's great that you're engaging with the notes posts of others.

How long have you been writing on Notes?

How often do you publish something or share the work of others?

What's your goal with Notes?

I love your topic and would love to learn more about it.

There are multiple in my feed who write about similar stuff like you and sustainable living and farming is a huge topic here as we all are looking for a SLOWER living.

After you answered my questions, I'll give you some feedback.

Hugs! You got this!!

Hi Nia, I'm back in action ^^ Last week really took ALL my energy but I think I could cheer up my dad a little and make him leave the house again.

Super super super super happy for you! That's why I needed to feature you. Congrats!

I recommend sending all Substack notifications in a folder on Gmail and then checking it 1x per month. There I found that we can now see that we got free/paid subs via Notes.
