"A quick search on Google reveals 292 results for “work smarter, not harder.” And they’ve even omitted similar entries." Found it! We're not alone with this ^^ Hope to see you tomorrow, Britt. Also on Friday you can meet Ayo
Many people burn out before they ever reach the "work smart" phase. Instead of advocating for hard work as a rite of passage, should not we shift the focus to intelligent strategies from the start? It does not mean to stay in your comfort zone.
Hey Geraldo, I love that you brought this up! The idea of this post was to spark exactly this kind of conversation. I completely agree—it’s so important to take care of ourselves, not just in our 20s, but throughout our whole journey. I’ve read so many stories here, and the key really is working smart. Smart strategies make a huge difference, and I always try to help people with what I’ve learned.
But at the same time, let’s be real—most people here are putting in serious work. They’re sacrificing sleep, weekends, evenings with loved ones—all to grow something meaningful. And I respect that so much.
For me, it’s like exercise. You need the right techniques, but you still have to put in the reps. My hope is always to inspire people to learn from those who’ve done it before and use smarter strategies—while also remembering to take care of themselves along the way
Hey Kristina, I really appreciate your thoughtful response! You’re right—building something meaningful does require effort, and I have a lot of respect for the dedication people put into their work. Maybe the key is sustainability. Just like with exercise, putting in the reps is important, but without the right recovery, it can lead to injury.
Hi April, 👋 still remember those early days when working for an agency. I hustled hard. Not because I wanted it but rather because this was how to do it. It was fine until it wasn't anymore. However, looking back I learned a lot in my 20s. This now helps me. However, I wouldn't recommend my kids taking the path I took as it simple as too much. Think the next generation is more about working 70% for corporate, learning as much as possible and then building your business 30% of the time 😊
Do you remember the story with the lightbulb? It took hundreds of ways to not create a lightbulb. 💡
Have a great day, April, happy to connect here and in the chat ❤️
How funny to see another one say that. I wrote a Medium article titled "Work harder, not smarter" in August last year.

I hope I'm home early enough to watch this live. I know the wisdom packed into it will be epic! Love you, Kristina! ❤️
Great you could join and also go live with us!!
As a beginner in any field, working harder is the first phase to build a future of working smarter. Choose your hard.
